FAQ
- Why do you choose not to filter Adult & Offensive searches?
- Where is data being collected from?
- How accurate is the data?
- Why would so many people be searching for e.g. “Yahoo.com” or “Yahoo”? Why would they not just type in address bar?
- What if I have a question not answered in this FAQ?
We believe in displaying a truly accurate reflection of web searches.
However We are working on an optional filter system that should be operational within the next few days.
We have partnered up with several search engines. we are currently only running at about 40% throttle in terms of data collection while in early beta testing.. (This amounts to around 2.5 million searches per day)
Google alone has an estimated 400 million searches per day, at maximum capacity we gather data for around 6 million searches per day. So Its a small portion but we like to think its still a fair reflection of what people are searching for on the web.
This question keeps coming up so I feel it needs to be addressed. If you have own website I’m willing to bet one of your top referring search terms is “yoursitename.com” or “yoursitename”. I know this is the case for us.
